4,337 Gifts : A Record for the Elves in 2017

It didn’t look like it at the outset, but the year 2017 turned out to be a record year for the Elves. All in all, we managed to procure 4,337 gifts that were distributed to 50 organizations serving men, women and children affected by HIV-AIDS from coast to coast.

Asking for donations, a bowling tournament, a yard sale and our essential kiosk at Marché Jean-Talon were our fundraising tools. Open for only 17 days, culminating with Santa’s weekend; the kiosk allowed us sell our nuts & candy and to talk about the Foundation’s mission. We owe an immense debt of gratitude towards the Marché des saveurs du Québec, our fantastic host at Marché Jean-Talon, and to Chez Nino, “guardian of the propane”.

For the 14th year, the incomparable Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf welcomed our large posse in its classrooms fpor the Wrapping Weekend, December 8, 9 & 10. Let us thank also Jouets Choochoo, Paramount Paper, Groupe Robert, Kindersley Transport for their amazing logistical support, as well as Carolle Piché-Burton, Le Gras Dur and Café Barista for the coffee, the hot chocolate and the food which sustained our hundreds of volunteer wrappers.

In the end, the sale of our gift baskets, an online silent auction (a first for the Elves), and an unexpected donation from Steamatic Canada allowed us to meet our fundraising needs.

A HUGE THANK YOU to those who, by donating their time, money or resources, have helped our 2017 campaign.

You can help us get a jumpstart on our 2018 campaign by registering for our Bowling Tournament (Feb. 17).
